California Chrome Owner Bitter About Belmont Stakes Loss

California Chrome missed out on the coveted Triple Crown after finishing tied for 4th at Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. Steve Coburn, the owner of the horse, was a bit bitter after his horse failed to win. “They’re a bunch of goddamn cheaters,” Coburn told NBC Sports during an interview after the race. “If your horse doesn’t even have the points to run in the Kentucky Derby, he shouldn’t be able to run in the Triple Crown. They’re goddamn cheaters.” Coburn later added that his horse was America’s horse. “It hurt a lot because this isn’t my horse, this is America’s horse. … We’ve still got the best horse in the United States.”
