A New Zealand Punter turned out to be an extremely smart lucky man when he correctly predicted the final score of the Germany-Brazil game. Of 9700 entries, he placed a $2 bet at 250 to 1 odds that Germany would win 7-1 and collected a cool $500.
According to TVNZ, he wasn’t the only New Zealand football player that collected.
However, it is another New Zealand punter who has greater reason to celebrate after winning $110,000 from a $40 bet by picking the halftime and fulltime scores in three separate matches.
While no one will be taking home $5 million from the TAB for picking the result of every match, New Zealand punters are embracing the contest.
Mark Stafford from the TAB says another punter bet $50 on the exact score from three games and walked away with $50,000
Sounds like a good day for the Kiwis.
