LA Galaxy star David Beckham is one of the world’s most well known sports figures. Signing a reported $250 million for five years with the Galaxy back in 2007, Beckham makes headline even when he does something as small as putting a finger in another person’s face.
During Saturday night’s 2-1 Galaxy defeat of Real Salt Lake, Bechham got upset at Real opposing coach Jason Kreis for yelling at the ref about handing out six yellow cards. The two had to be separated after Beckham said something to Kreis over the shoulder. According to the Salt Lake Tribute Kreis later said that, “ Beckham thinks he’s the only one who can yell at referees.”
Kreis is probably right in this situation. Beckham doesn’t get to control who does and doesn’t get to yell at the ref. This has to be ruled in favor of the manager making $200k a season and not the bossy guy making $55m a year.
Props to Sportsgrid for the perfect pass.
