It was certainly an action packed Tuesday as NFL Free Agency officially opened up at 4 PM EST. A ton of signings were made seconds after the commencement with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting most of them on Twitter, such as the Dolphins signing Brandon Albert and Karlos Dansby signing with the Browns. There were a multitude of unanticipated surprises as well, as DeMarcus Ware and Julius Peppers were released and it was announced that Darrelle Revis will be released if the Bucs can’t find a suitor for him by tomorrow.
One of the most surprising tweets came from Darren Sproles though, who apparently found out that he’ll be shopped instead of released via social media. His reaction was this:
WOW! “@ESPNNFL: THIS JUST IN: Saints now plan to trade RB Darren Sproles due to heavy interest. He will not be released.

It really is a travesty that some guys find out their current status with their teams through Twitter, but that’s the turn that the world of sports news has recently taken.
Cue an angry Jimmy Graham tweet.
