10. Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers
With Kendall Hunter going down for the year with a torn ACL and Marcus Lattimore not ready to return, Carlos Hyde has suddenly jumped to the second spot on the depth chart. In the first preseason game he looked really good, running hard and initiating contact. Hunter had 78 carries last year and Hyde could have a similar load. If Gore goes down, Hyde will get a ton of carries in the power offense of the 49ers and Hyde is a must-own handcuff.
9. Devonta Freeman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
It didn’t take long for Steven Jackson to get hurt and now Jacquizz Rodgers is at the top of the depth chart in Atlanta (hence why Jacquizz isn’t a sleeper). If Jackson is out an extended period of time, Freeman will get a lot of touches, especially on third down with his blocking ability. Freeman is a sneaky pickup at the end of the draft that you can stash to see what happens with S-Jax. Freeman could have a big impact in Atlanta, especially since Rodgers isn’t built to carry the load.
