Thanks to Tony Dungy we have our latest nontroversy. The former head coach said that he wouldn’t have drafted Michael Sam because Sam would be a distraction. Interestingly enough, he thinks that giving a first chance to Sam would be more of a problem than taking on Michael Vick immediately after his dog killing scandal. Sports talk radio hosts and ESPN First Take thank Tony for the material, I’m sure.
“I wouldn’t have taken him,’’ Dungy told theTampa Tribune. “Not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it. It’s not going to be totally smooth . . . things will happen.’’
The irony with Tony Dungy’s comments is Mike Sam is a perfect scheme fit in his D. Undersized outside pass rusher

Mr. Dungy is certainly entitled to his opinion and he has now clarified his statement.
