Tennessee Titans are putting running back Chris Johnson on the open market, according to Adam Schefter. After attempting to trade Johnson, 29, it appears the Titans will release him and his $8 million salary in 2014 (only behind Adrian Peterson for RBs).
No great surprise, but Titans are releasing RB Chris Johnson today, per source close to situation. Johnson will be a free agent.

Johnson, who rushed for 2006-yards in 2009, has rushed for over 1,000 yards in all six years in the NFL.
Ian Rapoport notes that the Dallas Cowboys could be the front runner to pick up Johnson:
Why might #Cowboys sign Chris Johnson? In 2008 draft, they were gonna pick him at 25, but #Titans grabbed him at 24. Dallas got Mike Jenkins
