Chip Kelly has been a hot commodity, and last night after Oregon’s Fiesta Bowl win he said that he would “listen” to other coaching offers. Kelly has been highly sought after, particularly by the Philadelphia Eagles, and I thought that would be his landing spot. I don’t see the Cleveland Browns as a fit personnel-wise, but Kelly would likely adjust his system for the players that he has.
Now, this is not to say that he will end up in Cleveland. A week ago everyone thought that Andy Reid would be coaching the Arizona Cardinals and now he is the Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach. We’ll monitor the situation to see how this develops, but as of right now all signs point to Cleveland.
One thing is certain, the Oregon Ducks know who they will hire to replace Chip Kelly if he leaves for the NFL.
Report: If Chip Kelly leaves Oregon for NFL, Ducks offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich will be promoted to head coach. (via USA Today)
