The New England Patriots cut WR Donte’ Stallworth following training camp but re-signed him on December 4th after they placed WR Julian Edelman on the Injured Reserve this week.
The Patriots beat the Houston Texans on Sunday 42-14 and Stallworth’s only reception of the year was a 63-yard touchdown during this game. A photo of the incident showed that he suffered an ankle injury and from the photo it definitely looks bad enough to place him on the IR.
Stallworth’s story this year shows just how hard it is to make it in the NFL and just how rough of a league it is. He’s been waiting all year to get another shot, and when he finally does, he gets hurt and is out for the rest of the year after one catch.
