Nike puts Carolina Panthers logo on South Carolina for T-Shirt

The Carolina Panthers are located in Charlotte, North Carolina, but that didn’t prevent Nike from putting the Panthers logo and “NC” on the state of South Carolina.  You would expect something like this from an off-brand company, but not a major company like Nike.  How does something like this not get checked?
