Cincinatti Bengals’ defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has been named the Minnesota Vikings next head coach, according to Chris Mortensen, replacing the fired Leslie Frazier.
Zimmer is the second Bengals coordinator to be snatched for a coaching gig in eight days, after the Redskins named Jay Gruden their head coach.
With Zimmer’s hiring, that leaves the Cleveland Browns as the only NFL team with an opening at head coach. The Vikings also interviewed the 49ers OC Greg Roman, the Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell, and the Browns’ DC Ray Horton before settling on Zimmer.
