To make room for recently signed forward Josh Smith, the Houston Rockets have waived forward Tarik Black. Black, a first-year player out of Kansas, was averaging 4 points and over 5 rebounds a game in 15 minutes of action this season for the Rockets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who just lost starting center Anderson Varejao, could be a destination for the 23-year-old who is known for his rebounding.
