OKC Thunder’s Kevin Durant, and his 32 ppg average this year, is probably the favorite to win NBA MVP this season. One of Durant’s biggest MVP supporters, his teammate Serge Ibaka, was interviewed by ESPN during last night’s Clippers-Thunder game.
Ibaka went straight to the point by saying Durant should win MVP this season: “LeBron James is one of the best players, and I respect his game, he play hard. But come on man, let’s be real this year, come on. I know LeBron James a good player, he’s big time. But this year, come on man, this guy deserves it. He’s the MVP. ”
Ibaka isn’t alone in thinking Durant should be the MVP this year. During an interview with ESPN, James himself admitted that Durant should take home the honor this year:
“I think KD has had one heck of a season,” James said of Durant, the league’s leading scorer. “And, you know, if he’s rewarded with the MVP, it would be great. It would be awesome for him, for his family. He’s played MVP-type basketball. I don’t really get caught up into what people say. At the end of the day, they have their own votes and they go from there.”
