The Cleveland Cavaliers dealing Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love was arguably the second biggest story of the NBA offseason. However, could they lose Love after just one season? According to NBA.com’s Sam Smith, Love, who can opt-out of his contract and become a free agent next season, may have his eye on the Lakers.
Indications are he [Love] will seriously consider the opt out and has his eyes on a return to Los Angeles, where he attended college and where the Lakers long have had him on their free agent wish list …
Original reports after the Cavs first agreed to a trade for Love was that the two parties reached a hand-shake agreement that Love would re-sign with Cleveland. Love, who is averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds a game this season, is due just under $17 million next season.
