Several CBS Chicago media members had some sexists comments towards CSN Chicago’s Aiyana Cristal during a recent Bulls game. While Cristal was on air, Dan Bernstein and Matt Spiegel started having a conversation on Twitter about her breasts. Take a look:
Aiyana Cristal makes me uncomfortable. I feel how hard she's trying, & end up awkwardly rooting for her to finish cleanly.

@MattSpiegel670 That's a complicated thought. Unpacking that is beyond me.

@dan_bernstein I contain multitudes.

Spiegel apologized for being apart of the conversation:
I missed an opportunity to keep the subject on point, & stay respectful. I'm sorry for that on many levels,& sad I offended Aiyana & others.

@charlesv I didn't derail it. I fucked up by not stopping it. Just as bad.

Bernstein apologized later via the Chicago Tribune:
“I’m an idiot,” Bernstein said Thursday morning on “The Boers and Bernstein Show.” “There are certain times when you can be childish and crass and there are other times when it’s just really stupid to be a child. My tweet was childish, my tweet was crass and unnecessary and I’m sorry I dragged an innocent person into it who’s doing a job and I made an observation I shouldn’t have made, and it was childish and silly and stupid.”

Later, he added: “My words are my responsibility and my words were stupid. And there’s nobody else to blame for any difficulties that I might be going through because of my stupidity. It’s entirely on me. And I own it. And I wish I would’ve had a second thought about sending it, and I’m learning my lesson about what is appropriate, what is inappropriate to say, and I feel bad about it.”
