LeBron James To Opt-Out Of Contract, Set To Be A Free Agent

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is reporting that LeBron James will opt out of his contract and be a free agent this summer.

LeBron James has notified the Cavs he will opt out of his contract and become a free agent, sources told ESPN

James, who was scheduled to make just over $21 million next season, is expected to stay in Cleveland and re-sign for a bigger contract.

Reminder: Even if LeBron simply signs a new 1-year contract in CLE, he stands to make about $600k more than he would if he opted in.
