Christmas may have come early for the Houston Rockets.
Forward Josh Smith has agreed to a deal with Houston after being released for the Detroit Pistons earlier this week. Smith, 29, struggled in Detroit and was released with two years and 26 million left on his contract.
Smith and Dwight Howard played AAU basketball together in high school, which was one of the selling points for Smith, one of the most athletic players in the league.
Smith chose the Rockets over the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and LA Clippers.
Need to correct myself on Smith contract. It is one year, BAE, but not pro-rated. He gets the $2.077 million.
