After trading for JR Smith and Iman Shumpert earlier this week, it looks as though the Cavs are closing in on a deal for Nuggets’ center Timofey Mozgov
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst, the Cavs are willing to give up at least one-first rounder and other assets for Mozgov.
Mozgov, 28, is averaging 8.5 ppg, and 7.8 rpg this season. Mozgov has a $4.95 player option for next season. Wojo reports that the Cavs will absorb Mozgov into an exception they created when the traded away Keith Bogans.
Mozgov should be a good fit for the Cavs especially since he has experience playing under Cavaliers coach David Blatt with the Russian national team. His highlights below:
