Down three runs heading into the bottom of the 9th inning during Monday’s game against the Oakland Athletics, outfielder Rajai Davis saved the day for Detroit. With bases loaded and one out, Davis launched one just over the left field fence off Sean Doolittle.
The Tigers were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 1984 World Series championship team on the night, and interestingly enough, ten years ago, Carlos Pena also hit a walk-off for Detroit when the team celebrated the ’84 squad:
