The Washington Nationals’ Aaron Barrett caught a major break during Tuesday’s NLDS Game 4. Barrett, who had just thrown a wild pitch to give the Giants the lead in the 7th inning, had another pitch get away from him while intentionally trying to walk Pablo Sandoval. Fortunately for the Nats, the ball found its way back into Barrett’s mitt just in time to get Buster Posey out at the plate. After reviewing the play, the umpires ruled that Posey was out even though it could have been called safe, because of the home plate collision rule (aka the Buster Posey rule).
