With today being the baseball trade deadline, there are a lot of fake MLB twitter accounts to watch out for. Today, the fake account of Ken Rosenthal struck big when MLB Network aired one of its tweets saying that David Price and Ben Zobrist were traded to the Detroit Tigers.
Rosenthal let his follower know it wasn’t him that sent out the tweet shortly after and the account has since been suspended:
This is a fake. Block him. RT @Ken_Rosenthal_: Sources: #Tigers close to finalizing deal with #Rays involving David Price and Ben Zobrist.

The official MLB Twitter account even issued a warning for the fake accounts:
Warning: There are fake @Twitter accounts spreading false #TradeDeadline rumors. Follow those you trust for accurate information.

So it appears MLB Network messed up the report even though Rosenthal was in the building:
