The Milwaukee Brewers traded for last season’s A.L. Cy Young winner Zack Greinke. This is a great move for Milwauke who have a potential twenty game winner along with a dangerous offense. In return for Greinke, Kansas City gets a group of touted prospects, Lorenzo Cain and Alcides Escobar, along with two minor league pitchers.
Greinke was going to be traded over and I thought K.C. would have been able to get more in return. This is in part the reason why I think it’s a very good move for Milwaukee, but also because they are getting a legitimate ace with Greinke. Milwaukee has already strengthened their pitching staff this offseason by trading for Toronto’s Shaun Marcum, who like Greinke, has a lot of potential. I like Milwaukee in the NL central next season with a lineup of doing with Prince Fielder, Ryan Bruan, and Corey Hart.
