This is pretty expected, given the close relationship that Tim Tebow shares with current Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. Tebow admitting he is a “pretty big fan” of Ohio State probably won’t make many Florida Gators fans happy since they consider Meyer a traitor for just leaving them for Ohio State. That being said, it’s not as though he went and started cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs or something.
In an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Tebow said, ““I was pretty nervous. We were literally taking off as they were about to score and then go for the two-point conversion, so I didn’t know until we landed that they won. So it was pretty cool. And I guess as hard as it is for me to say, I am a pretty big fan now of The Ohio State University.”
I personally am pretty surprised that the Jets didn’t have wi-fi on their team plane for him to be able to continue to track the game while the team was in flight. But regardless of that this quote has to be hard for the Gator Nation to hear. You have to wonder that if Urban Meyer became the head coach for Florida State or Georgia would Tebow still be a fan of them?
