Rumblings Ohio State Could Be Program That Used Catapult Footage Illegally

Update: Catapult has shared that they are not under investigation and there was no date breach:

While nothing has been confirmed and is all internet rumblings at this point, with Alabama and Michigan sharing that they no longer are using the Catapult video platform to view film, one team has been making headlines. USA Today’s Dan Wetzel notes that the NCAA and local authorities are investigating ‘unauthorized access’ of footage from ‘one other school’ not named Michigan:

The following account, Blue Bloods Bias, which has posted rumors in the past and should not be considered as 100% legitimate, is apparently allegedy that Ohio State is front-and-center of the allegations.

BREAKING: The NCAA is allegedly investigating Ohio State for “unauthorized access” of other schools’ practice films via Catapult, a video platform.

On Friday Night, Reporter Dan Wetzel confirmed that the NCAA was conducting an investigation into the incident, but didn’t name any specific teams involved…

Many are convinced that the BUCKEYES are at the forefront of the investigation, due to insider reports & their suspiciously close ties to Catapult…

Catapult is a video & data analysis company, which hosts recordings of teams practices on the cloud & provides analytical insights to improve performance on the field.

It turns out that both the Former Ohio State Director of Football Video & Assistant Football Video Coordinator are now Senior Engineers at Catapult. This is potentially a serious conflict of interest, as both have deep ties to Ohio State due to being there for 3+ years, & are now in administrative positions at a firm which hosts their rivals data…

Insiders at Michigan had accused the Buckeyes with this video scheme months ago, but this is the 1st time that those reports have been SUBSTANTIATED…

Also noting that Maryland is apparently a team that had footage stolen from Ohio State:

Ohio State allegedly stole signals, playcalls, & terminologies from Maryland in 2022 via the video platform Catapult

The video database Catapult hosts practice film for 100+ D1 Football programs, & is currently at the forefront of an NCAA investigation for “unauthorized access” of other schools practice films…

A former Maryland coach has now revealed that the Terrapins were VICTIMS of the Buckeyes signal stealing operation

In the Summer before 2022, an Ohio State Staffer allegedly accessed Maryland’s practice video database, which included all offensive/defensive signals that the Terps had practiced that offseason…

The Maryland Coach claimed that the Buckeyes “kept logging in weekly to view our practices,” & were only caught when OSU offered to send the film to SMU, an opponent of Maryland that season.

SMU then informed Maryland about the films, which led to Maryland HC Mike Locksley confronting Ohio State HC Ryan Day…

According to the source, Day promised to address the issue in-house & fire the staffer involved. But it’s unknown if this occurred, or how many other OSU staffers downloaded the same signals. This SCANDAL is about to get real interesting…
