Report: Mark Dantonio To Be Pursued If Brian Kelly Leaves Notre Dame

According to Yahoo’s Pat Forde, Brian Kelly, following a 4-8 season with Notre Dame, is exploring coaching options outside of South Bend.  While this is just speculation at this point, TheBigLead.com’s Jason McIntryre is also reporting that, if Kelly were to leave, the Irish’s top replacement candidate would be Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio.

We’ll see what happens with the coaching carousel over the next couple weeks. Two major jobs (LSU and Texas) have already been filled.
