According to USA Today’s Dan Wolken, Lane Kiffin, the current Alabama offensive coordinator, is expected to be Tom Herman’s replacement as the next Houston head coach.

Kiffin was USC’s head coach for three-plus seasons and at Tennessee for one prior to that. The 41-year-old has a career record of 35-21.
The four other candidates Kiffin reportedly beat out for the job were: UH interim coach Todd Orlando, UH offensive coordinator Major Applewhite, former LSU coach Les Miles and Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley.
After a 9-3 season, Houston is set to play in the December 17th Las Vegas Bowl against San Diego State.
While still unknown, it seems likely Kiffin will stay as Alabama’s OC until after the Crimson Tide season is finished (Bama plays Washington in one of the CFB Playoff semi-finals).
