6. Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Easily the best running back in the Big Ten. Wisconsin has a pretty easy schedule after their opener with LSU and Melvin Gordon will no longer be splitting carries. Gordon has a chance to rack up a ton of yards and if Wisconsin can make it to the Big Ten Championship game (which they should), Gordon will be firmly in the mix for a coveted spot in New York. He had 1600 yards last year and 12 touchdowns while splitting carries with James White and his average of 7.8 per carry is absurd.
5. Braxton Miller, QB, Ohio State
If Braxton Miller can stay healthy, he will likely be a lock for New York. He flourished in Urban Meyer’s system last year when he was at full-health and I would expect more of the same from him this coming season. Miller totaled over 3,000 total yards on offense and had 36 total touchdowns. The Buckeyes schedule isn’t too tough and he should be able to pump his stats quite a bit against the likes of Maryland and Rutgers. The only other thing standing in his way of a trip to New York would be the pesky Spartan defense in East Lansing.
Update: Scratch Braxton Miller off the list after news of possible season-long injury
