Jeremiah Smith, the top player in the 2024 class, took his recruitment to the final stages before eventually picking Ohio State over Miami during early signing day. Saying that his decision came just minutes before announcing, Smith has yet to send in his LOI to the Buckeyes. Some are saying that he never actually signed the letter of intent in the video of his announcement:
Pen looks like it never touches the paper! Plus his name is Jeremiah Smith… think it would take longer to sign out your name than that. #Canes #TheU #Miami pic.twitter.com/kyZQW7vKJD

Local Florida reporter on the Smith situation:
All I can say is I’m hopeful we’ll have an answer on Jeremiah Smith’s future destination tonight. Still not sure if it’s Ohio State or Miami. But it’s a got of lot of people on their toes. Best of luck to all parties involved pic.twitter.com/6TAE6Hhtid

Smith choose OSU while Ryan Day was doing his signing day conference and he certainly had the Buckeyes head coach relieved:

We’ll see if there is anything to him not sending his LOI in yet….
The funny thing about college football in 2023 is even once Jeremiah Smith sends in his LOI, the recruiting won’t end. It’ll just become a battle to prevent him from entering the transfer portal.
