The Wolverines landed nine commits from the south for 2016 (Josh Metellus, Devin Gil, Nate Johnson, Nick Eubanks, Josh Uche, Elysee Mbem-Bosse, Eddie McDoom and Devin Bush Jr.). That being said, Matt Scalici, the Manager Producer of Sports for AL.com, tweeted the following about the Wolverines’ recruiting efforts in 2016:
Michigan signed exactly one 4-star player from the South this year. I would be surprised if the SEC is intimidated thus far.

Scalici is correct in that Michigan landed only one four-star recruit (Devin Bush Jr.) based on the composite rankings. However, with the SEC trying to get a rule in-place that would block Michigan from practicing at IMG Academy in a couple weeks, it seems there is at least a bit of fear of the Wolverines.
