It was believed that Dougherty, who has been with SJSU since 2013, was going to get a Michigan position last year. That didn’t end up being the case, however, but with the departure of T.J. Weist to South Florida this offseason, Dougherty now will wind up in Ann Arbor.
San Jose State averaged 28 points per game last season under Dougherty. Harbaugh previously hired Dougherty back in 2004 was he was the head coach at San Diego.
Michigan also recently hired Antonio Richards from Prattive High School (AL) to be an offensive analyst.
