ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren recently posted an article asking a couple top football targets and a Big Ten assistant coach about how the upcoming Michigan season might impact the Wolverines 2016 recruiting class. Rashan Gary, the No. 1 overall recruit, was one of the recruits quoted by VanHaaren’s ESPN Insider article. Here was the response from the No.1 recruit:
“Just looking at Michigan’s season, they have a good coach and new schemes, so it will be cool to see what it looks like on the field. Every program needs work,” Gary told ESPN. “I’m the type of recruit that likes to build up a program, so that wouldn’t affect me at all. They can definitely use this season as a selling point, because in three or four years, who knows what Michigan could be.”
It’s still unknown whether or not Gary will official to Michigan this fall (he visited twice over the summer). It’s clear, however, that the DT out of Paramus Catholic (N.J.) is high on the Wolverines.
