Update: Moncrief has been granted a release from Auburn and can transfer to Michigan
Auburn safety Derrick Moncrief announced he was transferring from the school last Friday. The former four-star prospect won’t be heading to Ann Arbor to play for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan next season. Scout.com’s Sam Webb has the scoop that Auburn has blocked a transfer to Michigan for Moncrief.

Auburn also didn't release Moncreif to any other schools in the SEC or any programs on the schedule (knocks out Clemson & Louisville)

#Michigan is the only school for which Moncreif wasn't given a reason for denying release. Begs the question, is it a shot at @CoachJim4UM?

Could this be retribution from Gus Malzahn for the Michigan satellite camps?
