Deone Walker, a four-star defensive tackle out of Cass Tech HS in Detroit, was once believed to be a heavy Michigan lean. However, the Wolverines may be losing steam after Mario Eugenio, a one-time Michigan pledge and friend of Walker’s, re-opened his recruitment:
“Before today I was towards Michigan, I’d say,” he told Sports Illustrated. “I mess with Coach Clink (Steve Clinkscale), who came from Kentucky, I mess with Coach (Shaun) Nua and my family likes Coach Nua, Coach Clink, Coach Harbaugh, Coach (Ron) Bellamy. I thought it was a family environment. It’s not looking all that right, right now.”
We’ll see how Walker’s recruitment goes but Kentucky, Alabama and others are also in contention for the 325-pounder.
