Johnny Manziel has had an interesting off-season to put it lightly. It all started with winning the Heisman, then sitting courtside at NBA games and meeting players. After an amazing performance in the Cotton Bowl, he had a legendary night that started at a Casino and ended in a Dallas Nightclub. Now, he’s getting pulled over for speeding.
No one would have known about him getting pulled over, had this Judge not made a terrible decision. Judge Lee Johnson’s of Ennis, TX and a Baylor alumni, posted this to his Facebook page:
“Too funny. So it seems that a certain unnamed (very) recent Heisman Trophy winner from a certain unnamed “college” down south of here got a gift from the Ennis P.D. while he was speeding on the 287 bypass yesterday. It appears even though the OU defense couldn’t stop him, the City of Ennis P.D. is a different story altogether. Time to grow up/slow down young ‘un. You got your whole life/career ahead of you. Gig Em indeed.”
Johnson then commented on post saying, “I meant to say ‘allegedly’ speeding, my bad.”
Texas A&M met with Johnny Manziel and his parents after the casino and Dallas nightclub incidents and told him to try to keep a lower profile and that he needed to stay out of the spotlight. Getting pulled over for speeding would not fit the description of what Texas A&M wanted.
That being said, his ticket will be thrown out now that the Judge posted about the case on his Facebook page, which then made it onto Twitter and Reddit. The Judge won’t be disbarred, but he might have a hard time running for re-election. For those of you that don’t know, most Judge’s in the state of Texas are elected, only a few are appointed. Looks like Johnny Football caught another break, this kid is living the dream.
