South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney went to sack Michigan QB Devin Gardner, but Vincent Smith stepped up to make a block on him.. Smith got him low and the crown of his helmet hit Clowney directly in the balls. Clowney went down almost immediately and lay on the ground for several minutes, and understandably so. I guess that’s the risk you take when you don’t wear a cup. Clowney did get Smith back though, when he absolutely obliterated him with this hit.
