Houston senior quarterback, Case Keenum, became the NCAA’s all-time leader in total offense after Saturday’s 171 yard first quarter passing against Marshall.
Keenum, needing only 130 yards to beat the previous record of 16,910 yards held by Hawaii’s Timmy Chang, stood at 16,952 career offensive yards after the first quarter. He broke the record on a 30-yard pass to Justin Johnson.
Keenum was granted a sixth year of eligibility after tearing a ligament in his right knee last season. He is also very close to breaking the NCAA record for TD passes, only needing nine touchdowns to break Texas Tech’s, Graham Harrel’s, record of 134.
