Houston Names Major Applewhite Next Head Coach

Looks like the reports that Lane Kiffin was set to be Houston’s next coach were incorrect.  Major Applewhite, who was a QB for Texas and a co-offensive coordinator with Mack Brown when he was the Longhorns coach, will be the Cougars new headman.

Applewhite, 38, was Tom Herman’s offensive coordinator at Houston the last two years.
