A trusted friend of Jim Harbaugh’s and someone who helped get him back to Ann Arbor, Todd Anson posted some interesting tweets regarding the long discussed contract talks between Michigan and Harbaugh. Mentioning that he was ‘slow played’ and that Michigan ‘did it to themselves’ with him bolting to the NFL:
I respectfully disagree. I think he intended to stay & got “slow played” out. Lots of evidence supports my view. Readily available viewing the reliable sources. https://t.co/UROWGfmYFQ

This is about as mixed up as you can get. He’s a competitor. They COMPETE. His competing now has to make UM get better to keep up. We unleashed him on ourselves. Nooobody needs to be confused here. We did it to ourselves (yeah, I hear you all protesting otherwise). Sorry. https://t.co/KgSuOz5ssh

My lips are sealed. These are among the reasons why its was stupid to wait so long & not be aggressive earlier to get him resigned. The base doesn’t want to hear it, so I’m not going to say it (if I just didn’t). https://t.co/DLU2nQJWVA

100%. A predictable situation to have been avoided which could have been avoided, I believe. https://t.co/tJ9RAGKvzv

On Harbaugh:
In reality, I don’t think he wastes a minute of his life worrying about what others think about him. He’s authentic. There is no pretense. Football is his thing. Everyone else does all the talking. https://t.co/GEKT2J4hkY

It had ben rumored that right before the Chargers and Harbaugh agreed to a deal that Michigan had upped the contract with Harbaugh and was prepared to give him all that he had originally asked for.
