Former Ohio State Assistant Has Terrible Take On Mel Tucker’s Suspension

Zach Smith, who was a WR coach under Urban Meyer at UF and OSU, was fired amid domestic abuse allegations against his former wife while she was pregnant. It should come as no surprise then that Smith would come to the defense of Mel Tucker after he was suspended by Michigan State for sexual assault allegations involving former rape survivor and activist Brenda Tracy, who says that she was threatened by Tucker.

On Tucker:

USA TODAY reported early Sunday that Tucker was under investigation for non-consensually masturbating on a phone call with sexual assault activist Brenda Tracy, whom he had brought to campus a number of times to speak to Michigan State football players about sexual violence.

 

Meanwhile, Smith:

Smith was found guilty of violating a civil protection order in December of 2020. In addition to the jail time, Smith was also sentenced to anger management, 40 hours of community service and three years of probation that includes restrictions on drug and alcohol use. Smith for felony counts of domestic violence and felonious assault in October 2015 but did not arrest him.
