Alma College in Alma, Michigan, is a Division 3 Football school. They wanted to change up their helmets and apparently wanted to pay homage to their school heritage, hence the plaid block “A.” It looks like they took a play out of the Jacksonville Jaguars helmet with the fading color scheme, going from white to red. Personally, I think these helmets look pretty sweet, and when you’re a D-III college, why not have a little fun with your uniforms? This is a great way to set themselves apart from the other D-III schools and is definitely an upgrade over their old helmets.
