The former Florida coach will be a WR coach that helps out with play-calling:
Former Florida head coach Jim McElwain has signed a deal to join Jim Harbaugh's staff at Michigan, McElwain tells ESPN. McElwain will coach the Wolverines' receivers and also be involved in helping to coordinate the offense and develop the weekly game plan.

McElwain coaching WRs, “will also be involved in helping to coordinate the offense and preparing the weekly game plan,” which sure sounds like the role of an offensive coordinator … just without the actual title https://t.co/Fm6nfgO2G4
