According to Josh Henschke of Rivals’ Michigan site, Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Athletic Depart has self-imposed a three-game suspension:
Multiple sources have confirmed that the athletic department will self-impose a three-game suspension for head coach Jim Harbaugh, with the program set to kick off against East Carolina next weekend.
The suspension will run through the Wolverines’ non-conference schedule, with Harbaugh set to return for the Big Ten opener against Rutgers.
JUST IN: We are told that Jim Harbaugh has informed those inside Schembechler Hall that #Michigan is self-imposing a three-game suspension for Harbaugh effectively immediately https://t.co/pAjCvE0jbq

This was regarding NCAA infractions during Covid and buying a recruit a burger and not communicating with the NCAA among other things.
Not confirmed yet but seems close:
Can confirm that a self-imposed suspension for Jim Harbaugh is being discussed at Michigan. It has not been finalized and there’s still discussion about whether to self-impose or let the NCAA process play out. But the consensus appears to be moving toward self-imposed suspension.
