Former 5 star recruit, Jaamal Berry, was involved in a assault Wednesday afternoon. The redshirt sophomore and a fellow OSU student got into a scuffle on campus Wednesday. According to the OSU Lantern, the victim “sustained bruises on his neck from this event.”
“At about 10:25 a.m., two males were witnessed “wrestling on the ground” in the South Oval, according to the police report. The primary witness is a university employee who declined to comment, but said in the police report that Berry was muttering things such as “I don’t know what is going on around me.” The report said Berry “appeared confused and disoriented and was unable to tell me his name.”
“The middle-aged woman said that the student on the ground had attacked another student. The student on the ground, who was later identified as Jaamal Berry, was clearly out of sorts and appeared to be quite disconnected from his surroundings.”
So far during his OSU career, Berry has not been able to live up to his high high school rankings. This season, he has racked a total of five yards on three carries. Adding to the fact that back in 2009 he was arrested for possession of over 28 grams of marijuana, will put Berry on a very thin rope the remainder of his career at Ohio State.
After what happened with Jim Tressel and Terrell Pryor, this is the last thing the Ohio State program needs hanging over its head.
