In what could have cost Michigan an away win against Minnesota on Sunday, the Wolverines’ bench was issued a technical foul in a tight ballgame with a few minutes remaining. According to Mark Snyder, the technical foul was given because assistant coach Saddi Washington went on the court (Minnesota’s has an elevated floor) to talk to a player down on the end of the bench.
Saddi Washington was going down to end of the bench to talk to talk to someone. Not another way to do it here w the court setup. https://t.co/uiGthDcwCS

BTN says technical came because Michigan assistant jumped on the apron. That's hideous.

The ref who issued the technical wasn’t available to comment following the game:
Requested comment/clarification on the technical. Tech was considered a judgment call, so Riley, tonight's head official, will not comment pic.twitter.com/IwCXGqYxQz
