Spain Star Tweets About Michigan Basketball After Team Fires Coach Before World Cup

Right before the start of the World Cup, Spain has axed their head coach, Julen Lopetegui. Gerard Pique, a star defender for the Spanish, tweeted the following regarding Michigan winning a National Championship in 1989 after firing Steve Fischer before the NCAA Tournament: “University of Michigan Basketball. 1989. NCAA Champion. It would not be the first time it happens. All united, now more than ever.”
