Michigan has an open scholarship for the 2015-16 season after news came out Monday that Austin Hatch will take a medical redshirt and become a student assistant for the team.
While it’s possible Michigan will only have 12 scholarship players for next year’s team, there’s also a chance they land one of the top guys left in the board for the 2015 class.
Jaylen Brown, the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect, is the main guy many Michigan fans want to see. A rumor was circulating that Brown was down to California and Michigan. However, that doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case, and the five-star is also considering Kentucky, North Carolina, UCLA and Kansas.

The other potential late addition to next year’s team is Kenny Williams, a top 100 player and recent decommit of VCU. Williams, who is also considering North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Georgetown, is scheduled to visit Michigan sometime in the near future:

Even if Michigan is unable to secure a commitment from either Brown or Williams, the team should still be a top 25 one with a nucleus of Caris LeVert, Derrick Walton, Spike Albrecht, Zak Irvin, Aubrey Dawkins and Ricky Doyle.
