Looks Like Michigan Has Their Sight On Defensive Player Of Year For Vlad Goldin’s Replacement

247sports put together an article on the top transfer portal hoopers, and Michigan is labeled a potential landing spot for SDSU C Magood Gwath:

Magoon Gwath might be the most toolsy player in the transfer portal right now, and the market is expected to cruise into seven figures, multiple sources told 247Sports. The San Diego State redshirt freshman is a fluid 7-footer who can stretch the floor and block shots. The reigning Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year is only scratching the surface of a sky-high potential.

Michigan, Kentucky and Washington are the three schools to watch here early. He’s already been in contact with each, but there are also some rumblings surrounding Texas. New Longhorns coach Sean Miller will likely have to build a team from scratch. Gwath would be a good place to start. Michigan has a Sweet 16 date with Auburn to worry about first, but Dusty May is already hitting the frontcourt market in a major way to find a Vlad Goldin replacement. Wolvernie big man Danny Wolf could also leave for the 2025 NBA Draft.
