Apparently earlier this week, FedEx lost Russ Smith’s National Championship Game jersey that he wore last year vs. Michigan, and he was justifiably pissed off. The company instructed Smith to send back the frame that was holding the jersey to repair it after his dad broke it. Here are some more details per the ex-Louisville guard’s Twitter:
I want to personally thank Fed Ex for deliberately throwing away my National Championship Jersey & compensating it by saying “Sorry”.

Thanks Fed Ex I trusted you with all my hard work and effort I put into that jersey only for you to throw it away. — Russ Smith (@Russdiculous_2) May 10, 2014
Words really can’t explain how upset I am. Billion dollar company, they throw away something I worked hard in & they only say “sorry”. — Russ Smith (@Russdiculous_2) May 10, 2014

Like I said life isn’t fair. Sometimes people n major corporations take for granted how much the little things mean and only say “sorry”.

The frame cracked when it got to my dad, then because of the cracked $600 frame we asked to send it back. Then they said the will only …

Accept the cracked frame with the jersey/merchandise inside the frame. So we comply only for them to throw my jersey away and say “sorry”.

@FedEx you are incredible. I am getting on a flight from Vegas to Louisville to graduate tomorrow & you guys have ruined that for me.

@FedEx There will be plenty of problems if I don’t have my jersey. Same stains, same rips, same odor, same everything. Can’t duplicate that.

We hope Smith gets the jersey back and wish him success in the NBA Draft.
