Long is currently the Athletic Director at the University of Arkansas.
There have been rumblings that Long, who was a grad assistant with the football team under Bo Schembechler and spent 11 years working in the Michigan athletic department, is the Wolverines’ top candidate to replace Jim Hackett.
UConn’s Warde Manuel, Boston College’s Brad Bates and Colorado State’s Joe Parker have also been mentioned as possible replacements for Hackett.
