Reports are surfacing that new Georgia coach Kirby Smart will not retain defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt on the Bulldogs’ staff. With both Alabama and Michigan needing defensive coordinators at the moment, Josh Newberg of 247sports was told that the coordinator, while most likely to take the Alabama job, has interest in Michigan’s opening:
I expect Jeremy Pruitt to land at Alabama replacing Kirby Smart. I'm told he's also interested in Michigan DC job.

The former Florida State DC during their 2013 national championship team, Pruitt, 41, is known as one of the best recruiters in the country. Five-stars Jacob Eason, Derrick Henry, Jalen Ramsey and Lorenzo Carter were just a few of the recruits Pruitt was the main recruiter during his time at Georgia and previously Alabama.
Pruitt, who led the Bulldogs to a top ten defense nationally this year, was on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama from 2007 to 2012.
